This is not a trick question…I honestly mean it - did you say ‘thank you’ today?
Well, if you haven’t done so, then do it now. Yes, right now…and what might you be thankful for?
Let me count the ways, as Elizabeth Barrett Browning would say, even though she was talking about the reasons why she loved that special person. I have posted the poem here for those of us who are not familiar with her work at the end of this article.
So what can you be thankful for right now?
the FACT that you can see, read, and understand this article. The world’s illiteracy rate is still not under control and you have crossed this bridge. You can see, a luxury that a blind person does not have. You can understand the general concept of this article, your mind functions well.
you got out of bed this morning…on your own. There are so many people who would love the ability to move on their own without the help of props or people.
you have access to the internet. Life in our current time is so technologically advanced that so many things are ‘instantaneously’ available at our ‘fingertips’…literally.
the gift of memory. Yes, life happens, we know that…however, it is what you choose to make the best of it that matters. Making lemonade with the lemons that sometimes might show up in life, is the best thing to do when it comes to ‘going with the flow’. You MAKE the best of what life gives you. Use your memory to make your future better than what the past has given. Recreate and this time, make it better or simply as you choose.
the mind. You have a mind that can make your life your best event. You can improve your life any time…simply develop the power of your mind. A great book I am reading and implementing the exercises in it is The Silva Mind Control Method. This book is amazing and all the works of Jose Silva. I will talk more about this in future articles.
So, there you have it…there is so much that you can be thankful for…take a few seconds to be thankful and see how good it makes you feel.
